Melissa Mulligan

Melissa Mulligan has been coaching singers for more than a decade. In that time her students have signed to major record labels, toured the world, performed on TV shows like “Conan” and “The Voice,” and entered prestigious music schools such as Berklee College of Music and the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at NYU. She has been a guest speaker and workshop facilitator at locations across the country, including Yale University's School of Music in New Haven, CT and the VocalizeU Artist Development Retreat in California. A singer/songwriter who took her first voice lesson at the age of nine, Melissa has studied voice her entire life.  Melissa’s work as an independent recording artist introduced her to vocal coaches of varying styles and methods in New York, Nashville and LA. This is when Melissa began to form her own ideas about what an individualized vocal program would look like for contemporary professional and aspiring singers. Combining the fundamentals of vocal technique with elements of music theory, performance and audition prep and creative writing, Melissa creates a vocal program for each of her students that meets them where they are today and helps them get where they’d like to go.  Melissa also runs the Artist Development, Career and College Prep, Songwriting, and Artist Development programs at MMVS for those strongly committed to reaching their musical potential.

Marianna Vagnini

Some of her students have gone on to perform on Broadway and opera houses throughout the United States. In addition to her work as a vocal coach, Marianna also has worked as a choral director at a variety of institutions including Holy Cross High School, The Mead School, The Institute for Musical Arts, Chase Collegiate School, Naugatuck Valley Community College, and Waterbury Arts Magnet School. Marianna has given a variety of Master Classes in the New York and Connecticut, including the English- Darling Vocal Fellowship at the Bushnell Theatre in Harford, while also traveling the world to places like Greece, Italy, Russia, Spain, France, Virgin Islands, and Germany to perform. From a young age Marianna studied voice and knew she ultimately needed to share her passion with the world. Marianna takes all of the knowledge she gained from her tremendous coaches in the Broadway and opera world, including the great Betti McDonald as well as the Institute for Musical Arts Inc, and loves to give the knowledge back to her students. Marianna has won a variety of awards for her singing and is also a loyal member of Professional Women Singers Association, National Association for Teachers of Singing, and National Association for Music Education/CT Music Educators Association. Marianna taches all of her students, ages 9- 96, in a way that is specifically designed for their individual needs. Marianna believes that all of her students should have the opportunity to sing authentically and freely and powerfully represent themselves in the world.
